What do you think of when you think about autumn and November? The rich color palette of fall foliage? College football? The Thanksgiving holiday? Traveling to be with family and friends for Thanksgiving? All of these are represented in the new ‘found items collage’ above: A boarding pass dated November 22; a collection of fall leaves that were preserved and pressed between the pages of a keepsake book; a child’s letter to a friend wishing him a happy Thanksgiving; a ticket for a Florida Gators game from November 2007; and a postcard, a bookmark, and greeting cards expressing the beauty of autumn and the sentiments of Thanksgiving.
The Bookmark Project is an ongoing effort by Friends Bookstore volunteers to collect all items left in donated books. We are incredibly grateful to our book donors as they allow us to offer gently used books to the public at affordable prices, which in turn allows us to fund major library programs and projects. Please enjoy this collection of found items, and please visit our bookstore, Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., closed Monday. (For holiday hours, call us at 561-544-8596 and press 9.)
