Funded Library Projects/ Events
Each year, the Friends fund over $70,000 in library programming, in addition to ongoing yearly initiatives and special projects throughout the year. Below are just a few of the highlights of our funded projects and events at the Boca Raton Public Library.

Seed Library
February 2026
Friends funding replenishes seed packets at the library's Seed Library, promoting gardening, seed saving, and access to healthy foods. The Seed Library was started in 2022 and is housed near the Check-Out desk in both libraries. Library cardholders can take up to three packets per month.

Friends continue sponsorship of ESOL Foundations classes
February 2026
The Friends have been funding the workbooks and instructional materials for ESOL classes at the library since the ESOL Foundations I for Adults series of classes was introduced in March 2022. Classes include ESOL Foundations: English for Beginners in 8 classes, and ESOL Foundations 2: Intermediate English.

Friends fund upgraded AWE Literacy Stations
April 2024
The Friends have been funding the library's AWE Literacy Stations at both libraries since 2022. These are all-in-one computer stations containing 175 games in reading and STEM for children ages 2-12. In April 2024, Friends funding upgraded the (4) original stations at the downtown library with many new software titles.
