Jimmy Stowe takes audience to Margaritaville and Beyond

The Jimmy Stowe Band was the musical act of the month, for the Friends Sunday Music Matinee Series.  Jimmy Stowe and the Stowaways as they are sometimes called, came to take the audience at the Boca Raton Downtown Library on a road trip. They started in the ever familiar Margaritaville and went all over the country. They even let the audience take the wheel.

This trop-rock (tropical rock) trio is made up of Jimmy Stowe, the lead singer and guitarist, Wiley Lulfs on drums, and Larry Agovino on the keyboard. They impressed library goers and Friends members with their versatility and charm. Their main repertoire of songs comes from the King of Trop Rock, Jimmy Buffet. However, as the audience of about 150 found out, the band can play songs by hit makers like Paul Simon, Jim Croce, James Taylor, and more.

Stowe and his band are not strangers to the Boca Raton Public Library. They have performed here in previous years, courtesy of the Friends. During their hour-long show, the band had the audience swaying, clapping and singing along. The band usually reserves time at the end of the show for requests, but many in the audience couldn’t wait. This band was not thrown off. They went straight into the requested songs and dazzled the crowd.

The Jimmy Stowe Band really represents South Florida and the people of Boca Raton. They brought sunshine, relaxation, and fun to the Boca Raton Public Library.
