Dear Friends,

I am pleased to have been nominated by the Friends Board as the new Board President as of May 1, 2020. As you know, Cyndi Bloom has stepped down as Board President after over 7 years in that role, during which time she guided us through many memorable occasions. Under Cyndi's leadership, we re-branded our organization, developed a bookstore marketing plan, increased our social media presence, and gave over a quarter million dollars to support library programs, events and major projects that enhance our community. In recognition of Cyndi's value to our organization, we recently nominated her for a Florida Library Association Friends Outstanding Member award. The award winner as of this date has not been announced, but for us, Cyndi is our Friends Outstanding Member.

Dear Friends,

During this extremely difficult time for our world, the Board of the Friends of the Boca Raton Library wishes you and your families a safe and healthy journey through new ways of living, communicating and social distancing. Therefore, we are putting our number one priority on our communication with you through newsletters, social media, and blogging. We want to stay closely in touch with you to be a resource for you and the library during these difficult times. We hope you will stay in touch with us as well, bringing your thoughts and ideas to our discussion.

Greetings Friends!

This past month was very exciting! We hope you enjoyed going back in time to meet abolitionist "Frederick Douglass" as part of our bi-annual Betty Grinnan Friends of the Library Program for American History. Nearly 100 guests attended this elegantly catered evening event for a donation fee of $10 for members/ $25 for non-members. Mr. Douglass also spent an afternoon with home school families and children from the Florence Fuller Child Development Center.
